CourseGraphic

Mrinalini Mukherjee was a sculptor whose radical use of fibers to create forms abstracted from nature made her an innovator in India.  Mukherjee turned to local craft traditions and indigenous materials in the 1970s as she developed her sculptural practice. This is the first retrospective of the artist in the United States and this exhibition tour will explore the artist's longstanding engagement with fiber, along with her significant forays into ceramic and bronze towards the middle and later half of her career.
