Writing About Desire

ID : 7597
« back to classes page

Why do we want what we want?  The people, things, tastes and predicaments that we don’t have in our lives, but believe would gratify us if we did, create a singular power that we all feel at one time or another in life.  In this workshop we will write about the wanting. Desire stretches across a wide sea, one where specks of what we crave glimmer on the surface and tease. A pistachio ice cream cone maybe, a long-awaited glimpse of the yellow-green bud, spring’s first hyacinth peeking through.  Or perhaps the stakes are higher creating thirst for something that may shift the tides and ignite a storm. A child. Enough pills to get through the day. Freedom. This course is open to writers of all levels.
