Comparative World Religions: Are We Really So Different?

ID : 7525
« back to classes page

The world is getting smaller — technological advancements like the internet and high speed travel have made "neighbor" more difficult to define. Words like "us" and "them" have lost all meaning. We are "them" and they are "us". In other words, we're all in this together. Throughout history, one of the most defining attributes of any group is its set of beliefs, its religion. The major world religions have united people in positive ways while simultaneously causing many of the world's divisions. This six-week journey through the essential tenets of the major world religions will cover the actual cores of their faiths, not the politicized or popularized versions, in an effort to determine whether practitioners are really so different.
