Mitchell D. Silber, former Director of Intelligence Analysis at NYPD, will speak about the rise in anti-Semitism and violent crimes against Jews in Europe and the threat to the Jewish community overseas.  He has joined forces with NYPD Police Commissioner Raymond W. Kelly and other colleagues to study the nature, direction, trajectory and depth of anti-Semitism in a number of European countries, including the UK, France, Germany, Belgium, Austria, and Hungary.  On behalf of Ronald Lauder, a New York City based philanthropist who is president of the World Jewish Congress, they have met with government officials, politicians, intelligence and police professionals, local Jewish organizations, Jewish university students, and Jewish religious leaders.  Silber will discuss his findings and what he has learned from his investigation.
