The Northern Experience in the Renaissance

Italy was not the only source of great innovations and achievements during the Renaissance.  A reciprocal dialogue was occurring between Italy and Northern Europe, particularly the Netherlands and Germany.  This session will examine the great achievements of artists such as Jan and Hubert van Eyck, Hieronymus Bosch, Matthias Grünewald, Hans Holbein, Pieter Bruegel, and Albrecht Dürer, among others.
