Faces are fascinating and unique.  In this class, we will study the basic shapes and proportions of a face and then observe the characteristics of a self-portrait and people using photographs.  The manikin is a wooden model of a figure.  You will be able to study and draw anatomical shapes from this movable manikin.  Animal models will be the next subject.  Other organic objects such as flowers and fruit will provide the opportunity to draw from nature.  A variety of drawing media will be introduced including pencil, charcoal, ink, colored pencil and watercolor crayons.  The lessons are ideal for those who have taken other drawing classes and wish to expand their skills.  Beginners are also welcome.  Basic materials will be provided.  Students are asked to bring a sketchbook 12”x15” or larger.
