Series : Impressionism, Neo-Impressionism, and Post-Impressionism: Gateways to Moder

Tuition: $125.00

Description: Dramatic change is almost always part of an evolutionary process.  This five-class series will examine the earliest seeds of impressionism in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries as well as the art of its major practitioners in the nineteenth century.  Neo-impressionism and post-impressionism, contrary to what their names suggest, developed simultaneously with impressionism, but with a focus on structure, order, and the optical effects of color dominating the aesthetic vision.  Our five class series will trace the origins, considerations, and directions of these highly innovative movements.
