  For the major muscle groups, these free-weight exercises will increase muscular strength and endurance and will improve flexibility, range of motion, and body tone. Participants will learn to exercise safely and correctly. All ages and levels of fitness are welcome; progress will be according to ability. Bring an exercise mat and 1- 5 pound weights. Thursday evening class will use dynabands which will be available for purchase ($3 - $5) at the first class.   Enrollment limited to 18 students.

Looking to build or regain muscle tone, balance and range of motion?  This stimulating yet restorative class will help build strength and endurance and improve flexibility.  Participants will learn to exercise safely and correctly.  The chair-based class includes some standing exercises for those who are able, and is perfect for the active older adult who has difficulty with floor exercises.  Students with mild and severe arthritis find the class invaluable.  Participants will work on lower and upper body strength and conditioning, mostly while in a seated position.  Students should bring 1 to 5 lb. weights (optional) and water.  Yoga straps or bands are used to assist in stretching and are available for purchase at first class.

Founded in 2017 by Nancy Olnick and Giorgio Spanu with Vittorio Calabrese as Director, Magazzino Italian Art is a private warehouse art space located in Cold Spring, NY. Its mission is to widen public appreciation and education of Post-war and Contemporary Italian Art in the United States. Magazzino, meaning warehouse in Italian, will host select works from the Olnick Spanu Collection, most of which have never been exhibited in the United States. Through the permanent collection, as well as rotating temporary exhibitions, community events, and collaboration with neighboring institutions, Magazzino hopes to establish an educational center for Contemporary Italian art in the Hudson Valley.

Capture the rich, warm and toasty colors of the fall, the frigid icy colors of winter, the pastel charm of the spring and the vivid bright hues of a hot summertime palette.  Additionally, we will concentrate on developing bold textures in our work.  Color mixing, design principles, perspective, friendly but constructive class critiques, short demos, and composition will help all artists to develop their own personal style of painting.  This class is intended for students who have some experience with the medium.
