Explore your creative side by combining decoupage, collage, and your ideas! Decoupage is the art of decorating an object with colored papers and clippings, applying special paint effects, gold leaf, and other adornments, and sealing the layers with varnish to give a finished, polished appearance. In this four-week class, students will turn found objects, cut tissue paper, magazines, or photos into decorative works of 3-D art. Tell your story on trays, wooden boxes, glass plates, or canvas to give as gifts or to keep. No experience is necessary to enjoy this fun-filled and creative process.
Supply List for Decoupage - Each student should bring scissors. If you want, you can use your own photos that are color-xeroxed onto regular paper (not photo paper). The instructor will bring magazines but if you want a certain subject, you can bring your own; also bring modpodge 8 or 16 oz. (can be purchase at any art supply store - either matte or gloss); Instructor will bring tissue paper in assorted colors and brushes...MOST IMPORTANT TO BRING: an object to decoupage: picture frame, bird house, step stool, tray, cigar box (wood is preferred).
