According to the Harvard Health Blog, “The more people cook at home, the healthier their diet, the fewer calories they consume, and the less likely they are to be obese or develop type 2 diabetes.”  When you cook at home, you control the ingredients and avoid consuming cheap fillers, flavor enhancers, and added salt or butter that end up in much restaurant food.

The first step to eating healthier at home is having essential ingredients on hand.  This workshop covers the basics for a well stocked pantry, refrigerator, freezer and cupboard.  Learn to decipher product claims and nutrition labels when food shopping. Take home a shopping list, recipes, and ideas for creating simple and nourishing meals from what you keep on hand.
