« back to classes page

Due out on March 3, 2020), The Lost Family discusses at-home DNA testing and the American family.  As a journalist, Libby Copeland has investigated and collected stories of individuals whose lives were impacted dramatically upon learning of their genealogy results.  Ushering in a new age of uncovering family secrets, companies like Ancestry and 23andMe that offer inexpensive testing kits have spawned recreational genomics. Copeland explores the impulse toward genetic essentialism and raises the question of how much our genes determine who we are.
