Movie Matinees: Great Acting, the Key Ingredient in Fine Film

ID : 7850
« back to classes page
ClassGraphic With all production elements in place and the enormous number of artists ready to apply their crafts, the actors bring directors’ visions alive.  When great acting is totally integrated into the final product, its believability, complexity, and power pull audiences into the film experience and keeps them connected to it. Ultimately, the actors lead us through the intellectual and emotional experience of the movie. Films with remarkable and memorable actor performances that will be considered are Woman Under the Influence (Gena Rowlands), The Entertainer (Laurence Olivier), Sophie's Choice (Meryl Streep), Taxi Driver (Robert DeNiro), One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (Jack Nicholson), Reversal of Fortune (Glen Close), The Conversation (Gene Hackman), and Reflections in a Golden Eye (Marlon Brando).
