The Armory Show of 1913

ID : 7533
« back to classes page

Organized by the Association of American Painters and Sculptors in 1913, an exhibition of modern art at the 69th Regiment Armory heralded a new painting style that assumed cutting-edge status over American impressionism and was regarded as more in touch with the increasingly fast-paced, chaotic world.  The Armory Show, as it came to be called, was a watershed event in the history of art on an international scale. Numerous works will be examined including artists from both the European and American arenas.
