Spanning 300 years, Jewelry for America (June 10, 2019 through April 5, 2020) will explore the evolution of jewelry in this country, from the early eighteenth century to the present day.  Its five chronological sections will reveal changes in styles, materials, and techniques, all woven into a sociohistorical narrative. Some one hundred examples from The Met collection — including recently acquired and rarely exhibited objects — will be displayed.  This exhibit complements Jewelry: The Body Transformed, a very successful exhibition that was the subject of SAS courses last year.
