Book Discussion: Marilynne Robinson’s Gilead Trilogy

This course will be devoted to the discussion of three bestselling novels by Marilynne Robinson: Gilead (winner of the 2005 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction), Home (winner of the 2009 Orange Prize for Fiction) and Lila (winner of the 2014 National Book Critics Circle Award).  All three novels are set in the secluded town of Gilead, Iowa, and chronicle the lives of the fictitious Ames and Boughton families.  During her writing career, Robinson has received numerous awards, including the 2012 National Humanities Medal and the 2016 Library of Congress Prize for American Fiction.  In 2016, Robinson was named in Time's list of 100 most influential people.
