How have these changes affected the quality of news coverage? What types of stories are getting better coverage? What important news is getting poor coverage, and what stories are largely ignored? What are some of the fresh approaches to news coverage offered by media organizations? What are some of the legal and ethical traps that journalists now face? We will explore how journalists broke several important stories and what lessons can be learned. We will also explore the story behind the story of several major journalistic disasters to see how and why the journalists wrote stories that they later regretted.
