The Personal Lives Of Washington And Jefferson

We know these two “founding fathers” well -- or do we? What were their personality traits? How did they spend their time? What did they read? Were they religious? What were their reflections on the events that they helped shape?

This course has been underwritten by a donation from Jacqueline Adler Walker.

ALFRED HUNT, Professor Emeritus of history at Purchase College, was a dean of the College of Letters and Science, and was a recipient of the Chancellor’s Award for Teaching Excellence. Professor Hunt will have just returned from sailing around the world as a visiting faculty member in the University of Virginia Semester at Sea program.
