Challah is the braided, delicately sweet
bread that is traditionally served in Jewish homes every Shabbat
and on holidays. In this class we will go step by step in preparing
dough for making challah, measuring,
mixing, kneading, and braiding. Each participant will create a
challah to bring home and bake.
Enrollment limited to 12 students.
JOANNE CITRIN began baking
challah in 1989 at the request of her then 2 1/2 year old daughter,
who wanted to know if she could have Shabbat at home like they did
every Friday in preschool. Since then, Joanne has prepared the
recipe at home every week
