Needlepoint

Students will learn how to prepare a canvas for stitching, practice several different stitch types and finish the completed needlework. We will focus on three styles of needlepoint and explore the types of canvas and yarns needed to create a variety of projects for the home or as wearable art.

Students can bring their own materials to class. If they prefer, they can purchase canvas and yarns from the instructor to make a simple eyeglass case with a monogram.

MARGIE LAURY. Since age 11, Ms. Laury has enjoyed needlecrafts. In college she majored in art and then earned an MBA. Now retired, she devotes her time to all kinds of needle crafts and is a member and instructor at the Westchester Knitting Guild.
